RiSBOd Scientific Publishing Support Program

The Intersectoral Research Network in Sustainable Oral and Bone Health (RiSBOd) is proud to support scientific publications and knowledge transfer. We are pleased to offer a new program to help offset publication costs for our members and their students. To be eligible, the applicant must submit a peer-reviewed article that has already been accepted for publication. Additionally, the content must align with RiSBOd's mission and research priorities: intersectorality and innovation in sustainable oral and/or bone health. The applicant must be the principal author (first or last author of the work) and provide proof of acceptance from the editor of a high-impact scientific journal (i.e., ranked in the first quartile of its category according to Incites JCR Thomson Reuters: https://jcr.clarivate.com). The article must comply with the Open Access Dissemination Policy of the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ), which now requires immediate open access publication under an open license (https://frq.gouv.qc.ca/politique-diffusion-2022/). The journal must offer immediate open access, meaning it does not require a subscription for reading. This will contribute to RiSBOd’s efforts to produce several articles that meet these criteria, as required by the FRQ.

The program aims to cover open access publication fees up to a maximum of $2,000 per article. A maximum of 10 awards will be granted during the fiscal year. RiSBOd expects this contribution to be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section of the publication.

Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria

• Be a regular or student member of RiSBOd (whose supervisor or co-supervisor is a regular member of the Network);
• Submit an article that aligns with the mission and strategic objectives of RiSBOd's three priority areas:
  
  • Understanding and addressing the determinants of sustainable health
  • Transforming care: Toward sustainable dental and bone medicine
  • Fundamental research for sustainable health from birth to end of life
  • Comply with the Open Access Dissemination Policy of the Fonds de recherche du Québec, which requires immediate open access under an open license (https://frq.gouv.qc.ca/politique-diffusion-2022/);
  • Ensure that the journal is not considered a predatory journal. To verify this condition, complete the verification tool at https://thinkchecksubmit.org/journals/french/ and consult the FRQ’s web page on the topic: https://www.frq.gouv.qc.ca/revues_predatrices/;
  • Comply with the ethics standards of the institution and the FRQ;
  • Be the principal author (first or last author) and provide an official letter from the editor of a high-impact journal confirming acceptance of the manuscript;
  • Only one request per year may be submitted as principal author (i.e., a member may not submit more than one publication support request in the same year). However, the applicant may be listed as co-author on another publication supported by this program;
  • Articles presenting innovative studies involving intersectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration with high potential for impact, visibility, and outreach will be viewed favorably by reviewers.

Fees will be reimbursed upon receipt of the open access publication invoice and proof of payment.
